"A linearized analysis is made of the longitudinal dynamics stability characteristics of a lifting orbital vehicle, assuming constant angle of attack. A comparison is made with the exact results of Etkin (Reference 1) for the phugoid and arrow mode, and the results of the approximate analysis found to be within about 30% of the exact results." - author's abstract.
