"This paper looks at the trends in the development of air power and theorises on the challenges that it would encounter in the face of emerging threat trends. It argues that air power is already undergoing visible changes to its application and concepts of operations, and that there would be a gradual change even in the role delineation based on its application. The paper concludes that air power will continue to evolve and support national security operations in a variety of ways, some that may not be clearly identifiable today. All air power enthusiasts will need to be cognisant of the changes that are taking place in the employment of air power so that the development of air power concepts and doctrine will be strengthened."--page iii.
